Your Care

Your primary care physician (PCP) is a doctor or nurse practitioner who serves as your partner in your healthcare journey. PCPs specialize in preventative care and treating common conditions, and they’ll help determine if you need more evaluation in a specialty clinic.

Hours and Location

Monday through Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, appointments only
Sunday, Closed

In the event of an emergency, when the office is closed, an answering service will page the on-call physician.

Referrals

Once your PCP determines you need a specialist, they will contact our referrals team, a process that may take 10 days or more. You will be notified once the referral is processed, and the specialty provider's office should contact you within two business days to schedule an appointment. If you do not receive a call, please reach out to the provider's office directly.

We are affiliated with Boston Medical Center (BMC) and frequently refer patients there, but the choice is yours. If you prefer a specialist at a different location, check with your insurance before requesting a referral.

For questions about an existing referral, call our Referrals Department at 617.323.4440, option 4.

Prescriptions

Prescription refills are generally processed within 24 to 48 hours.

Billing

If you have HSN, (also called Free Care), GRMDC will bill you if:

  • You have an HSN deductible. We will reduce bills for patients on Partial HSN by 80 percent.
  • You have private insurance and HSN but did not pay your private insurance co-payment at your visit. HSN does not cover private insurance co-payments.
  • You saw a doctor who does not accept HSN.

Insurance

Massachusetts residents may qualify for health insurance or financial aid through programs like MassHealth and WellSense, the Health Connector, or Health Safety Net.
