COVID-19 FAQ's

March 30, 2020

As your community health care provider, Greater Roslindale Medical & Dental Center (GRMDC) is concerned about your health and we want to protect you. Our goal is to make sure our community stays as healthy as possible, especially as we are faced with the COVID-19 outbreak (Coronavirus).

What should you do if you feel ill?

If you have symptoms such as a cough, fever or shortness of breath, call before coming to the Medical Center – 617-323-4440 option #3.  A clinical staff member will call you to discuss your symptoms.A member of your care team will talk with you about your symptoms and guide you on what to do and where to go to get help. If you have symptoms and are directed to come to GRMDC, you may be asked to wear a mask and other protective clothing. This will protect you, our staff and other patients.  GRMDC is performing COVID 19 testing based on specific criteria. Please do not bring additional family members or friends to appointments, unless necessary for the appointment.  This is for their protection.

What can you do to protect yourself and your family?
The best way to protect yourself and your family is to wash your hands. Doing this several times a day and when you first walk in your home can really help. Wash for 20 seconds. Using alcohol-based hand rubs and gels is also effective. Also, remember to take care of yourself and your family by getting lots of sleep, eating well and reducing your stress.

Get Good Information.

Make sure you get information from a trusted source. Misinformation can lead to actions that are not helpful. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has a Coronavirus Update page that offers reliable guidance. Visit www.mass.gov for more information. You can also visit the CDC.gov or coronavirus.gov.

Practice Social Distancing.
The best way to slow down the spread of the disease is to slow its spread and ‘flatten the curve’. You can do this by staying home if you can, only leaving for work or to get food or essential services.

We are in this together. We will do our best to update you as often as we can.
